WNBA Breakdown: Wednesday 7/19/17

I want to start off this article by giving a S/O to my Forecast Family, without them I’m nothing, so nothing but love to all of you! Now let’s get down to business. We have a nice 4 game slate and it’s the last good slate before the All-star break this weekend.

Games:

Con @ Ny
Atl @ Was
Dal @ Min
Ind @ Pho

Injuries:

2 big name players will be out for this slate and that’s Elena Delle Donne and Brittney Griner. Both suffered injuries in their last game. Griner’s looks to be more serious at the moment  where the Mercury said she will be out 3-4 weeks, where as EDD is more of a game to game injury.

Guards to play :

Jasmine Thomas $6,300 – Thomas has been very consistent as of late, she’s racked up 25 or more Fps in 7/10 games. The game to look at though is her last matchup against NY. She had 23p and 5a which was good for 36 fps. I expect some of the same results today because of her matchup with NY’s guard Hartley. She’s a great option for cash and a safe play for 25-30 fps.

Diana Taurasi $5,600 – IF and that’s a big IF Taurasi plays I think her usage will be through the roof. With Griner out Pho will rely on Taurasi to carry the squad and Ind doesn’t have anyone that’s able to lock her down. Last game against Ind she score 17p and dished out 6a which was good for 29 fps. If her shot is falling I expect her numbers to be similar.

Epiphanny Prince $5,200 – Prince has been very steady for NY since she’s come back from the Euros. She’s clocking 30+ minutes and mid 20s fps. In her last game against Con she hit 25 fps in 21 minutes. That tells me she has a good matchup and since Con has been playing better basketball lately I believe the game will be much closer. At her price Prince needs 26 fps to hit value and she should be able to exceed that.

Tierra Ruffin-Pratt $4,000 – TRP is my value play at the guard spot for the slate. She has a high upside if her shot is falling. You can always count on her to play pesky defense and grab rebounds, but if her shot isn’t falling it’s hard for her to hit value. Last game against Atl she scored 11p, grabbed 7r and dished out 6a which was good for 21 fps. At this price I like TRP and I think playing her will pay off, just know it comes with a little bit of a risk.

Forwards to play :

Sylvia Fowles $7,700 – Here’s my MUST HAVE for the day and it couldn’t be more obvious. I always say buy low on players who you know are worth more and Fowles is a perfect example. FD gave us all a free square today because she’s had a couple bad games in a row. Her price has dropped about $1,700 and it won’t stay that way  for long. She has a great matchup with a poor Dal front court and her price is in an excellent spot, so take your free square and move on!

Elizabeth Williams $6,800 – Williams is another player who has been on a tear. Was plays pretty well against bigs, but without EDD their team isn’t the same. I think this is the spot where Williams has another big game. Her price is kind of high for my liking, but she is safe for 25-30 fps.

Sancho Lyttle $3,700 – Lyttle is another value player that will allow for salary relief, but will be close to value at the end of the game. She’s been getting mid 20 minutes, which is plenty of time to get 19 fps. Without EDD I see Atl taking this game, but I expect it to be close which means more opportunity for Lyttle.

Tianna Hawkins $3,300 – Hawkins has been filling in for EDD and saw 23 minutes last game. At a near minimum price she is a steal because she will give you salary relief at other positions. Don’t expect to much from her though, if she hits 15 fps I would be happy.
