Last night was a disappointing night as I fell for the Kaela Davis trap. I shouldn’t have trusted a rookie like that and I will learn from that mistake. So I apologize if anyone used that recommendation in their line. Onto today…. Both of these games should be high scoring and not much defense so beware. Pricing for players is starting to climb so it’s important to target players that can reach value at their price. Lastly don’t just choose a player off their last game performance, instead look at their career numbers and matchup to figure out if they are really worth it.
Elena Delle Donne, WAS $8,300 – The most expensive and best player on the slate is EDD. She scored 34.9 fps in her last game against LA, but that game Washington was over matched. But, with her getting about 35 fps that shows her price is fair because 41.5 fps is in reach, especially tonight. Lock her into your lineup because this game is going to be a shootout and EDD put up 27p against LA. Tonight could be the night she goes for 35+. I’m looking for 35-40 fps from EDD.
Breanna Stewart, SEA $8,200 – A lot of people are high on Stewart today because of Was poor defensive ability in the frontcourt. Her price seems pretty high to me and she only recorded 25.9 fps in her last game. She’s coming off a knee injury and Sue Bird is back, that will take some usage from Stewart. I will be fading Stewart tonight.
Jewell Loyd, SEA $7,600 – Loyd has had two great first games for Seattle, but Sue Bird is back and that will push her usage rate down. At this price and a less opportunities it’s an easy fade.
Tiffany Hayes, ATL $7,600 – Hayes has been pretty consistent so far this year racking up 28.7 and 39.7 fps. She plays Chi again tonight where last time they played she racked up 31 mins, 23p, 6r, and 5a. Hayes will be in my line as I expect this game to turn out like the first one. I’m looking for 35- 40 fps tonight from Hayes.
Tamera Young, CHI $7,300 – Fade strictly because there is better value out there and that I don’t think she will be able to sustain these numbers throughout the season. While she might have another great game today it seems like a trap spot to me.
Layshia Clarendon, ATL $5,500 – One of my favorite plays today strictly because of her price. While a lot of the other guards saw their price sky rocket Clarendon is still in Mid tier level. She also gets the same matchup against Chi as she had last game, where she produced 18p,6r and 7a. Lock her into your line and watch her hit value for you. I’m looking for 25-30 fps from her.
Elizabeth Williams, ATL $5,400 – Williams is a walking double double. Last game against Chi she has 11p and 11r. I figure she’ll do the same thing again tonight. Her price tag seems fair and she should be around value. I’m looking for 23-28 fps from her.
Tayler Hill, WAS $5,200 – Another one of my favorite cheap guards is Hill. She’s played 28+ minutes in both of her games this year and is a nice scoring compliment to EDD. She seems prices fairly and I expect her to be around value tonight. I’m looking for 22-27 fps from Hill.
Kristi Toliver, WAS $4,600 – Toliver is an underrated starter for Was. She gets good minutes and has a lower price. Having her in your line allows you some salary relief, but she’s consistent so you won’t have to worry about a dud. I’m looking for 18-23 fps from her tonight.
Jessica Breland, Chi $4,400 – Breland has been consistent in her first two games and makes for a great value play. She had 11p and 10r in her first game and 12p and 7r in her second game. The thing that kills her is in those games she had 5 and 6 turnovers. But, she gets 28 minutes a game so the opportunity is there. She’s a lock in my line because she’s a double-double threat every game. I’m looking for 17-23 fps from her.
Stefanie Dolson, $4,300 – Dolson is another consistent player that will be right around value at the end of the game. In her last game against Chi she played in 27 mins, had 8p, 4r and 3a. She should get the same kind of run today and I’m looking for a duplicate of her performance. Expect Dolson to score 16-21 fps tonight.
