Value Vault: MLB 4/11/17

April is one of my favorite times of the year because it’s starting to get warm again. Both NHL and NBA playoffs are almost here. To top it off MLB is just starting out, here in in Detroit we call it April in the D! We have a nice 10 game slate where there is plenty of value. Let’s dive into some value….

J.T. Realmuto $2,600 – Realmuto is quickly becoming one of my favorite players to roster this year. He’s hitting .500 with 2 homers and 6 RBIs on the early season. I’m surprised his price is still so low because he’s clearly hot right now. He has a great matchup with Bartolo Colon tomorrow where he’s hitting 9/21 for a .429 OBP with a .762 SLG and a 1.190 OPS. Lock Realmuto in tonight!

Asdrubal Cabrera $2,900 – Cabrera get’s a matchup with the washed up Clay Buchholz and the Phillies tonight. While the Phillies have shown some life early on in this young season Buchholz is way past his prime. In 7 games to start the season Cabrera has a hit in 6 of those games. In his career against Buchholz he’s 6/14 with 2 homers and a .529 OBP, .929 SLG and a 1.458 OPS. He makes for a cheap option at SS tonight.

Dexter Fowler $3,200 – The Cardinals have had a rough start to the year so far and Fowler is one of those struggling as he’s only hitting .148. But, he has a nice matchup with Gio Gonzalez tonight. Fowler’s career numbers against Gonzalez are 10/20 with a .526 OBP, .850 SLG and 1.374 OPS. Although Fowler has had a rough start I see him getting on base a couple times tonight and he can still steal some bases so he’s worth a shot.
