We have a nice 10 game slate for our Wednesday night! All games are supposed to be fairly based on the spreads. The biggest spread is Boston favored by 7.5 points and it is worth noting OKC has a chance to wrap up a playoff birth with a win tonight. I think tonight really comes down to which star will you roster and how you put together your supporting cast of players. Of course Westbrook is on the slate, Anthony Davis becomes a great play if Boogie sits, the Warriors are playing so Steph, Klay and Draymond are playable, Kawhi or Gobert and he becomes more interesting if Hayward sits. Let’s dive into some value plays for tonight!
TJ McConnell $5,500 – Back up PG Sergio Rodriguez was announced out again for tonight’s contest against the Hawks and last night when he was out against BKN McConnell played 35 minutes. McConnell has a nice match up with a weak defender Dennis Schroeder. For someone who should get upper 30 minutes, McConnell’s $5,500 salary puts him in a nice spot. He needs only 27.5 fps to hit value. Although McConnell will most likely be chalky tonight I think he’s a must have because of his minutes and matchup.
Timothe Luwawu- Cabarrot $3,500 – This is my favorite value play for today. With both Henderson and Covington out TLC will get plenty of minutes. His primary defender will be Hardaway Jr and this is a plus considering Sefolosha was ruled out again tonight. The Sixers are committed to giving TLC a shot and he should get a ton of run. Last night in a similar situation he played 33 minutes, scored 17 pts, grabbed 9 rebounds, 3 assists, a block and a steal for 33 fps. I expect to see the same from him tonight and the best part is he only needs 17.5 fps to hit value. This gives you most salary flexibility to build your line.
Taurean Prince $3,800 – He’s been a value play for awhile it seems like, but for whatever reason FD hasn’t updated his price based on usage and performance. In his last 2 games he’s played 36 and 38 minutes. With Bazemore back tonight I think the minutes will go down, but he’ll still get 25+ which is enough time to get 19 fps. His matchup against the 76ers with no Covington is really nice. He will most likely be chalky tonight, but again the salary relief is nice if you’re trying to get multiple stars in your line.
Zach Randolph $5,600 – He is in this spot because Marc Gasol has been ruled out tonight with a knee injury. Randolph will start at center and he gets a juicy matchup against Myles Turner. He should be able to bully Turner down low for points and rebounds. For $5,600 I like his chances of hitting value of 28 fps.
