How’s it going everybody? Hopefully you survived last nights monster slate. Overtime in the Memphis/NO game helped me cash my slam tickets last night and bumped my win streak up to 4. Today we have a smaller six game slate so having your guys hit value is going to be crucial to cashing tonight. As usual I will write a stud and a value play I like at each position. Any questions, I will be on twitter, @MonstarsDFS.
John Wall vs ORL $9500
I have a feeling Bradley Beal is going to be out tonight. Apparently the Wizards have a very strange rule with monitoring his minutes which was brought to my attention last night. Basically they only want Beal playing 180 minutes per 9 days (don’t ask me why). He exceeded his 180 minutes last night and tonight’s game is his 9th day. Aside from weird minutes rules, Wall is creeping towards the top 5 in the NBA in usage rate and gets a great matchup again tonight against the Magic who have been struggling defensively against backcourts as of late. If Beal is out tonight, pay up for Mr. Wall.
Sergio Rodriguez @ MEM $4600
Memphis is coming off of an OT game last night and they are already short staffed. They will be resting more players tonight and the Spaniard Rodriguez has been sizzling his last 5 games. He’s coming off of back to back 30+ point FD games and that alone is enough for me to throw him in tournaments tonight.
Ok, maybe I won’t have a stud for this position because quite frankly I’m not high on anyone at SG tonight, especially the higher priced guys. Value plays at SG tonight include, Caldwell-Pope, Fournier, Hood, Allen and Wayne Ellington (if J-Rich is out again).
Jimmy Butler @ DET $9200
Butler is a bit over priced for my liking but has been extremely productive as of late. His floor is him hitting under value but his ceiling is roughly 6-7X his value tonight. Wade might have his minutes monitored tonight too which would increase Jimmy Buckets upside.
Troy Williams vs PHI $4200
As of now it looks like I am paying up for both spots at SF but if I ultimately punt the position I will probably roll with Williams tonight. As I stated earlier, Memphis might only have a 7-8 man rotation tonight which would leave Williams with a decent amount of minutes and should allow him to at least hit his value.
LaMarcus Aldridge @ MIN $6500
From a GPP standpoint, Aldridge is underpriced with the upside he brings. Assuming he isn’t resting tonight against the Timberwolves, Aldridge makes for a fine play carrying upside approx 7X value tonight. Minnesota doesn’t guard the PF very well, allowing over 40 FD points per night to the position.
JaMychal Green vs PHI $5200
I’m pretty sure this will be like the 10th straight day Green makes my lineups. His price is slowly creeping up to where he isn’t a must play anymore but because of a limited depth chart and facing the Sixers, he will be played once again. As long as he continues to get 30+ minutes, I fully expect him to keep hitting his value at the very least. If Marc Gasol is out for rest, Green becomes a must play in all formats in my opinion.
**** Both Okafor AND Embiid are out tonight for Philly. I highly suggest pairing Green with Ersan Ilyasova or Dario Saric in a few GPP lines tonight!
Andre Drummond vs CHI $7800
From a GPP standpoint, I love Drummond tonight. The Bulls rank 20th in the league against Centers, allowing 47 FD points on average to the position. Drummond should be low owned with other options but carries a fairly high ceiling tonight.
Robin Lopez @ DET $5100
There aren’t a lot of value plays at Center tonight but if you want to save at the position RoLo is safe. His average of 24 FD points is exactly his value. Anything over that is a bonus and has proven he is more of capable then scoring 30 FD points.
Hopefully this article helps you in your GPP lines tonight and Good Luck DFS Nation!
