I’ve been out of the writing game for about a week but I’ve got some time today to do some research and put it in article form for all of you DFS players. Today’s article will focus on guys I like for GPP today on Fanduel. If you have any questions, I’m on twitter @MonstarsDFS.
Rajon Rondo @ POR $5500
Rondo’s start with his new team has been anything but smooth. Interestingly, he only has one game with 10+ assists this season which is very uncharacteristic for him. I do however like him tonight for tournaments. He’ll be low owned and the game should be fairly high scoring. Portland also ranks in the top 50% for turnovers per game (15) and Rondo could contribute a few steals to his stat line tonight. Don’t expect a crazy amount of FD points from him like in years past, but he’s definitely capable of exceeding his value tonight.
D’Angelo Russell vs BKN $5800
I’m a big fan of Russell tonight and I am flirting with the possibility of a LakeShow stack tonight. Russell is progressing nicely in his sophomore season and gets an amazing matchup tonight against the Nets. BKN ranks dead last in a ton of defensive categories including most FD points to pg’s this season. Like I mentioned with Rondo and steals, Brooklyn is ranked 29th in turnovers per game so steals are also going to be there for Russell tonight.
DeMar DeRozan @ CLE $9200
I’m not a fan of DeRozan’s price tag in cash, but he does make for an elite GPP play tonight. He is averaging a crazy 34 points per game so far this season and is also contributing in other stat categories too. He is averaging 10+ more FD points per game than any other shooting guard in tonights slate, and that’s why I’m considering him an elite tournament play tonight.
Dwyane Wade @ POR $6400
We are seeing effects of Wade’s age catching up to him and he’s not playing at an elite level anymore. He is coming off of 3 days rest however so 30+ minutes should be expected. For his price tag, he is cash and GPP viable tonight.
LeBron James vs TOR $9900
All hail, KING JAMES! I don’t think this guy is ever going to slow down. I am building my lineups around him tonight in both cash and gpp. He’s averaging his lowest ppg of his career but the assists and rebounds are still there. (9 per game for both) He’s also too cheap being under 10k. His floor is 40 FD points, which would mean hitting value if he only gets to his floor. Look for him to score more than 40 FD points tonight against Toronto.
Brandon Ingram vs BKN $3500
For minimum price on FD, I don’t mind rostering Ingram in tournaments tonight. He is projected to score 22 FD points tonight based off of two different generator’s I’ve seen which would easily be exceeding his value. As mentioned before, Brooklyn is terrible at defense and Ingram could see some extra work if the game is to get out of hand tonight.
Nikola Mirotic @ POR $4300
With no Doug Mcdermott tonight, Mirotic looks to see an increased role against Portland. He’s coming off of a double double last game which was good for 39.7 FD points. He should be low owned and I might point chase him tonight and hope he can get me 30 FD points.
Brook Lopez @ LAL $6800
Lopez didn’t play last game due to rest, so he should be fresh and ready to go against a young Lakers front court. He’s been pretty consistent this year when he plays, and should get around 30+ tonight.
Karl-Anthony Towns vs CHA $8400
If you’re going to pay up at Center tonight, I think you should go with KAT. He’s averaging nearly 40 FD points per game, so hitting value shouldn’t be an issue tonight. The Hornets also rank 5th in FD ppg to Centers, averaging 47.6 points against them so far this season.
Hopefully my advice helps and you use a few of these guys tonight if you need a hole filled in your tournament lineups! Goodluck tonight everybody!
