NBA Core Four – 11/8

Happy (?) Election Day everybody! I’m assuming many of you have the same mindset as myself. I just cannot wait for this to be over, but I still strongly encourage all who are able to go out and vote! We get an opportunity that many countries cannot say that they have, so whether you side strongly with a candidate or not, go vote!

While Election Day is deservedly in the spotlight on social media today, we DO still have NBA DFS to break down, including the return of the Core Four.

Here are your NBA Core Four for the Fantasy Forecast lineup for the 6-game slate tonight:

Damian Lillard | $9,800

Lillard is by far and away the most expensive option at the point guard position on tonight’s slate, but for good reason. He gets a cake matchup with the Phoenix Suns tonight who are currently third worst in the league when it comes to allowing Fanduel points to opposing point guards (46.87) and lead the NBA in team possessions per game at 110.0 and 111.8 over their last three games. In NBA DFS, opportunity leads to production and clearly no team offers more chances to produce than the Suns. On top of that, Dame has been scorching lately, averaging 31 points per game over his last 5 contests, even after scoring only 19 last game. Expect a bounce back from a healthy Dame, a potentially massive bounce back.

DeMarcus Cousins | $9,500

Thankfully the two studs that I view to be locks tonight are both under 10k, allowing more flexibility with the rest of the lineup. I truly believe that everyone should lock DeMarcus Cousins into their lineup tonight. Boogie is notorious for dominating at home, posting a stat line of 24/11.5/3 at home last season, and has averaged 33/11.5/3 at home this season, only bolstering his production. The Pelicans are also the second worst team in the league when it comes to defending centers from a fantasy perspective, allowing an average of 50.6 Fanduel points per game to the position, plus they’re on the second leg of a back-to-back, when they’ve also been notoriously bad this season. Lock Boogie in with confidence as I personally view him as the player with the highest ceiling tonight.

Devin Booker | $6,700

Welp the breakout finally happened! Over his last two games, Booker has been on another planet, averaging 38.5 points, 5 assists, and 3.5 rebounds per game. That’s INSANE. He has had two cake matchups in the Lakers and the Pelicans, but the Blazers won’t pose as a much tougher threat either, as this game currently has the highest over/under sitting at 219.5 and the Suns have an implied team total of 106. There are going to be a ton of possessions in this game and a whole lot of offense. Don’t expect the Suns to shy away from the hot hand tonight, so expect Booker to tear it up yet again, for quite a reasonable price.

JJ Barea | $5,700

Obviously you are going to need some value when you are rostering a number of studs, and JJ Barea is the epitome of an ideal value play today. With Deron Williams ruled out of the game, the offense will be Barea’s to run and without Dirk tonight as well, there are going to be even more shots to go around than usual. This might blow you away, but Barea has actually posted 20-plus points in consecutive games as well and has averaged 17.3 ppg on the season. He played 46 minutes in an ugly overtime win against the Bucks on Sunday and 30 minutes in the game before that against the Blazers. Tonight, he gets the Lakers. Can this play get any more attractive?! The Lakers are in the bottom third of the league when it comes to allowed FD points to opposing point guards, giving up an average of 44.2 FDP on the season and 49.2 FDP to PGs over their last 5 games. For $5,700, Barea brings guaranteed minutes and a high-level of production at an incredible discount tonight. Expect him to be one of the chalkiest plays on the slate, and you won’t want to miss out.
