NFL Advice for Week 5

Happy humpday everybody. Last week was very successful for my subs and myself on both sites once again. Almost every single player I wrote up in last weeks article went off, so hopefully you took some of my advice. I will be looking to help out anyway possible again this week as I go for four straight successful weeks in NFL DFS. I’m going to change my article style this week and just leave you two plays I really like at each position that can be used for both cash and gpp. If you have any questions you know where to find me, @MonstarsDFS.

Goat 1: Tom Brady @ CLE $8700

Right now I’m not going Brady, but that could very well change by Sunday. His four game suspension is over with and I believe him and Bill Belichick will be trying to make a point while also getting him back into the swing of things. I could easily see Brady throwing the ball a ton on Sunday, and the Browns are horrible. Expect safe numbers from Brady in his return this Sunday.

Goat 2: Derek Carr vs SD $8100

Carr is who I have in my lineups as of now, and will probably roll with him. He’s thrown at least 35 times in every single game this season and has scored solid fanduel points of , 23.8, 12.9, 25 and 22.4 so far this year. He’s also getting his most favorable matchup of the year thus far, facing a San Diego defense that ranks 28th against the pass, and actually stops the run very well. Look for Carr to throw the ball around 40 times in this one, exceed 300 passing yards, and also expect the Raiders to score a lot of points. He seems like the best play on the board this weekend and has a reasonable price tag too.

Running back

Goat 1: Melvin Gordon @ OAK $7700

I think this game will have a lot of scoring being done and is one of my main games to target this weekend. I’m staying on the Gordon train this weekend as he faces an Oakland Raiders defense that ranks 31st against the run. Gordon isn’t sharing handoffs with anyone, which is very important in dfs. He leads the NFL with 6 rushing touchdowns and also recorded a career high 6 receptions last weekend. Look for Gordon to stay hot, and take advantage of his underpriced tag while you still can.

Goat 2: Jordan Howard @ IND $7200

It looks like I’ll be using the same running backs as last week and I’m perfectly fine with that since it worked like a charm. In Howard’s first start, he ran the ball 23 times for an impressive 111 yards. Howard also doesn’t have to worry about splitting carries with anyone and Bears coach John Fox has already stated that Howard is their guy again this week. Expect similar results from Howard this weekend against a Colts defense that is suspect against the run.

Wide Receiver

Goat 1: Odell Beckham Jr @ GB $8500

I’m a little scared rostering Beckham because of the news coming out of New York that he isn’t having fun, plus he’s been a giant baby so far this season. However, the matchup is a juicy one this weekend against my Green Bay Packers. With no Sam Shields, the Packers secondary has really struggled against wide receivers. Marvin Jones JR torched them for 205 yards and 2 tds and Stefon Diggs also torched them the week before for 182 yards and a score. My only concern is that Green Bay focuses on shutting down Beckham, which would then leave rookie Sterling Shepard in an amazing spot. I will probably roster both separately in different lineups this weekend, but I’m expecting Beckham to finally have his first breakout game in 2016.

Goat 2: Amari Cooper vs SD $7200

This situation is similar to the one above. Cooper is in a tremendous spot against a Chargers secondary that has been terrible at covering WRs. But I could also see them focusing on Cooper, leaving Michael Crabtree to be the guy you want this weekend. Either way, Cooper has the chance to have a monster game, especially with all the pass attempts I believe Derek Carr will have on Sunday.

Tight End

Goat 1: Rob Gronkowski @ CLE $7200

Gronk has done nothing this season. You can imagine how happy he (and his fantasy owners) are to get Tom Brady back under center. Brady targets Gronk a ton and I’m fairly certain we will get to see a classic Gronk Spike in the end zone this Sunday. I’m not a huge fan of the price tag since he’s literally done nothing so far, but he is certainly worth a look because he is the best Tight End in football when Brady is at QB.

Goat 2: Richard Rodgers vs NYG $5000

Aside from the Oakland/San Diego game, another game I want to target is the Packers and Giants game. Tight End Jared Cook has been ruled out this Sunday, leaving Rodgers in charge of the position in the Packers offense this week. His price tag makes him more than affordable, especially when Aaron Rodgers is the guy that will be getting him the ball. Expect Rodgers to be a reliable play, and an even better one if he reaches the end zone Sunday night.

Mason Crosby vs NYG $4500

If you need to save money (as you should with kickers anyways) then Crosby should probably be your play on Sunday. He is the cheapest kicker in the slate, yet plays for an offense that has lots of scoring potential on Sunday. He has yet to miss a FG this season, and could be in line for plenty of work, as Green Bay’s offense has typically had a field day in primetime games at Lambeau Field.

LA Rams vs BUF $4700

Other than week 1, the Rams defense has been one of the best defenses in football. They create tons of turnovers and also get consistent pressure on QB’s. Tyrod Taylor and the Bills offense is far from impressive, and the Rams defense should eat again this Sunday. I am locking them in on Fanduel and Draft Kings as I am anticipating 10+ points from them again this Sunday.

Hopefully some of these guys help you win some money this weekend!!! Monstars out.
