NFL Advice for Week 4

Week 4 is almost here and it is the first week with bye’s in the NFL. There have also been a lot of injuries that have opened up some real nice value plays, so be on the lookout for who gets the promotions around the league. Last Sunday my subs and I enjoyed a near tournament takedown and I will be hoping to bring some of the same this weekend. Any questions, I’m on twitter @MonstarsDFS.

Cash Goat: Cam Newton @ ATL $9300

I think that ATL is slightly overrated coming into this game only beating the Raiders and the Saints. This weekend Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers come into this game with a “must win” attitude. Newton is the safest quarterback in the field this week to roster in cash, and Atlanta’s secondary has given up a boatload of yards to all three quarterbacks they’ve faced. I will most likely be going Newton and trying to pair him with Benjamin or Olsen, and I suggest you strongly consider the same.

GPP Goat: Matthew Stafford $8300

Stafford is cash viable but I love him for gpp’s as well. I don’t think a lot of people will pay up for him despite him being the highest rated quarterback through three weeks. Also if you haven’t noticed, DA BEARS STILL SUCK and Stafford has a great chance to shred through their defense. The only thing Chicago has going in their favor this week is that they are at home, but Vegas still thinks they’ll lose. (Lions -3)

Cash Goat: Melvin Gordon vs NO $7600

For starters, I will be going with Le’Veon Bell as he will be coming into week 4 fresh and I expect Pittsburgh to lean on him early and often on Sunday night. The guy I want to pair him with, and will tell you right now is a cash must, is Melvin Gordon. If you watched the Monday night game, you should have taken notice that New Orleans got ran all over by not one, but two running backs. They proved that their defense is terrible everywhere. It also helps that Gordon isn’t expected to split carries with anyone else. Lock him in cash, please.

GPP Goat: Jordan Howard vs DET $5600

Howard is border line cash viable this week as he will be the only Chicago Bears RB with the rock and that’s what you should want out of your running backs. He shouldn’t be too highly owned, and like I said, the touches should be there against a Lions defense that hasn’t stopped the run that well so far this season.

Wide Receiver

Cash Goat: Terrelle Pryor Sr. @ WAS $7000

Pryor is the only guy on the Browns with any skill at all. Last weekend they fully utilized his talent and had him running, catching and yes, even throwing the football. Look for the Browns to find anyway possible to get the ball in his hands this weekend and watch the stats rack up again against a Redskins defense thats ranked 17th overall. Also, I’m 2/2 on survivor picks for you guys. Yes I will be picking on the Browns again this weekend and urge you to select Washington as your survivor. You can thank me after Sunday’s game.

GPP Goat: Jamison Crowder vs CLE $6000

Crowder and Cousins appear to have some nice chemistry working with each other as Crowder has 25 targets through three games. Anyone seeing that many targets should be considered for tournaments. He’s also scored two weeks in a row, adding to his upside this weekend.

Tight End

Cash Goat: Greg Olson @ ATL $7900

I hate paying up at tight end but I think I’m rolling with Olson this weekend. As mentioned before, I really want to pair Cam Newton with someone, so it might as well be Newtons go-to guy. Olson has 28 targets through 3 weeks, which is a ton for a tight end. I think Olson reaches the end zone this weekend and has a chance to score some serious Fanduel points for you as well.

GPP Goat: Zach Miller vs DET $5000

If Alshon Jeffery can’t go, I like Miller  a lot for tournaments. Brian Hoyer threw his way nine times connecting on eight of those and also good for two tds. Miller could be inline for a lot of work again this weekend, especially if the Bears get behind in this game and have to rely on the pass.

Dustin Hopkins vs CLE $4500

Hopkins is a cheap, reliable play at the kicker position this week. The Redskins should be able to move the ball and get into FG range a decent amount on Sunday. Hopkins is 11/11 on fgs and 5/5 on xp, indicating the Redskins have been settling for way too many field goals so far this season. Expect safe numbers from Hopkins this week.

Denver Broncos @ TB $5200

Famous Jameis has proven he can be a good quarterback. However, last time he played against a good defense he coughed the ball up five times against Arizona. Denver’s defense is even better and has a crazy amount of upside this weekend. Unless I NEED the cash somewhere else, i’ll be paying up for Denver.
