The NFL season is finally amongst us with the first regular season game getting underway tonight. Just because NFL is here doesn’t mean I’m done with MLB dfs. In fact, this is the time when there are lots of overlays that you should be looking for with other people transitioning over to football. I’m on a time crunch today so there will be little statistics in this article. It will mainly be guys I like tonight. Hit me up on twitter as usual, @MonstarsDFS.
AJ Cole vs PHI $6500
The pitching in this slate is not pretty therefore I’m going to find a cheaper guy with some value tonight. Cole has pitched well since being called up by the Nationals and he has a cupcake matchup tonight vs the Phillies. He should hit value tonight at the very least.
Wilson Ramos vs PHI $3500
I might as well just write about Nationals players in this entire article. Yesterday my mini stack did not pay off but tonight I think it will with taking some Nationals hitters. Alec Asher has been terrible for the Phillies and I think the Nats bats will jump all over him tonight.
Joey Votto @PIT $3800
Votto gets a park downgrade tonight but that is little concern to me. The guy is an on base machine which always makes him extremely safe in cash. If the weather holds in Pittsburgh tonight, I’m going to play Votto since he’s so safe and has good upside.
Daniel Murphy vs PHI $4100
Of all the Nationals bats I want tonight, Murphy is priority number one. He’s making a legit case for MVP this season and has just destroyed right handed pitching all year.
Yangervis Solarte vs COL $3000
Solarte has been heating up at the plate recently and because of the fact he makes good contact from both sides of the plate makes him a safe cash play tonight against a pitcher making only his third start of the season tonight.
Brad Miller @NYY $3500
Nobody really jumps out to me at shortstop tonight so I’m going to roll with the only guy at the position with some power. Miller gets a park upgrade at Yankee Stadium and I’m hoping he can take CC deep tonight.
Nelson Cruz vs TEX $4300
Aside from Nationals hitters, I also like Mariners righties tonight against Derek Holland. I just saw a crazy stat last night on twitter that showed that Seattle has hit more home runs at home than the Rockies have in Coors in 150 less at bats. I also like Nelson’s teammate Franklin Gutierrez tonight who hits lefties well and usually hits in the top half of the batting order when he’s in the lineup. Cruz is my home run call of the night as I look to get back on track there.
Hopefully this advice can help anyone sticking out baseball on fanduel tonight. I will not have an article until Sunday morning for NFL. Good luck tonight and I hope you all enjoy the football game tonight as well.
