Fanduel Plays – Thursday Sept 1st

Whatsup guys?! It’s seriously September already? Summer is gone but football is almost here. Tonight’s a smaller slate on Fanduel tonight and that means getting your pitcher right is EXTREMELY important. I’ve had a very good streak going lately so I figured I’d share the guys I like for tonight’s slate with all of you! As usual, I’ll answer any questions you guys might have on twitter via @Schmidt_faced or @MonstarsDFS

Pitcher

Jose Quintana @ MIN $9700

I’m rolling with Quintana over deGrom tonight. Outside of Brian Dozier and Joe Mauer, this current Twins team hasn’t hit Quintana at all in their career. In 230 Abs, they are 54/230 (.235 average) and Dozier and Mauer have 22 of those hits. I expect Quintana to score around his average of 36 fanduel points tonight.

Catcher

Buster Posey @ CHC $3500

I might punt the position tonight, but if I don’t then Buster Posey is the play for me. In his career, Posey murders lefties and is hitting an even .300 against them this season. He’s heating up at the plate in his last 7 days (.365 average .500 OB) and hit .375 in August. I expect Posey to have a good game in a playoff like atmosphere in Wrigley tonight.

First Base

Jose Abreu @ MIN $3400

Both Whitesox first basemen look good to me tonight. I Love Morneau for GPP as he has 4 home runs in 32 at bats against Ervin Santana, but I will be playing Abreu  tonight. Abreu actually hits righties WAY better than he hits lefties and is coming off of a red hot month of August. In August, Abreu hit 8 of his 19 home runs and also had a sizzling .362 batting average. He’s my home run call for tonight as well.

Second Base

Brian Dozier vs CWS $3700

In these short slates there is nothing wrong with picking a batter that is facing your pitcher and Dozier is that guy for me tonight. As i mentioned earlier (see pitcher) Dozier has seen some success against Quintana in the past. He has taken Quintana deep 4 times in 43 career at bats and has semi-respectable numbers of .256/.304/.581 for his career against him.

Third Base

Jose Reyes vs MIA $3300

I like Mets lefties tonight against Jose Urena who has struggled against lefties all season long. This year, Urena has an ERA of 8.39 and given up a batting average of .317 against lefties this season. Reyes isn’t what he used to be on the bases now a days, but I think he will find some success tonight.

Shortstop

Asdrubal Cabrera vs MIA $3000

Same thing as Reyes, I expect Cabrera to find success against Urena tonight and his $3000 price tag is actually a bit too low for him right now. In his last 10 games, Cabrera is 13/34 and has had some massive fanduel games in there as well as he’s reached double digit points in 6 out of those 10 games.

Outfield

Melky Cabrera @MIN $3200

Outfield looks pretty ugly tonight and it looks like my current lineup structure will not allow me to afford any of the top bats tonight. He’s DTD but if he plays, I like Melky tonight. He’s found success against Ervin Santana in the past as he’s a lifetime .313 hitter against him and is a safe cash play if he is in the lineup tonight.

Hopefully my advice helps you guys get through this ugly slate tonight! Again, if you have any questions feel free to tweet them to me at @Schmidt_faced or @MonstarsDFS!
